Passport To Art
I apologize for the last post. Although I clearly put in breaks between
subjects, this blogger has decided to update itself and of course in
moving on to a better future, blogger totally screwed up the line-break thing.

Hopefully, this time will work better.

This Saturday in The Depot, Passport To Art

This is the 3rd annual student art show and art work from just about every school in Berwyn will be represented. Join and celebrate student art this Saturday! Invite your friends and family!

This event is sponsored by the Berwyn Arts Council, the Berwyn Development Corporation and the Berwyn Depot District Merchants Association.

When you arrive have your child grab a Passport at any of the participating Depot District Businesses and then begin your travels to see the artwork. At the end of your visit, stop at "Over the Rainbow" ice cream parlor where your children will receive a free ice cream cone! The event will start at 10 am and conclude at 2 pm.

More Information

Application

The mission of the Mini-Mural Project is to create a living community mural which will promote the creative expression of local artists and provide an enriching visual experience to residents and visitors of Oak Park.

Site: The murals will be placed on the inset portions of the southern and northern retaining walls of the Union Pacific Rail line, located throughout Oak Park along the CTA Green Line/Metra elevated train route. The mural areas vary at 6' x 8' and 6' x 11'.

Materials: Each applicant will be required to submit with their application the materials they intend to utilize in the execution of the mural. Paint is the only medium accepted for the mural, and should be of a quality to withstand weather conditions for a reasonable amount of time. Murals will be applied directly to the train embankment, on a pre-primed surface provided for the artist.

Obtaining all materials and supplies necessary for the design and execution of the mural shall be the responsibility of the selected artist. It will be necessary for the artist to apply protective sealant to their art work when the piece is completed.

Stipend: The eight (8) artists selected will each receive a stipend of $500 for materials prior to the execution of the mural, and a final award of $500 each upon the full completion of the artist's project, totaling $1,000 award per artist.
