This Weekend in Theater
Last five shows of Rohina Malik's UNVEILED at Victory Gardens this week. Very nice review on Chris Jones Tribune blog. We have had amazing post-show dialogues every night.

You should have received your postcard in the mail this week for Tanya Saracho's OUR LADY OF THE UNDERPASS which begins tomorrow. I saw a run thru yesterday and laughed a ton and was very moved by the end.

Come for Press Opening this Saturday, April 3 at 5:00 PM to enjoy free tamales and chicken tinga from our friends Jaime and Lizet of Tamale Hut Cafe. By the way, grab this week's issue of Time Out for a feature on 16th Street Theater by John Beer: http://chicago.timeout.com/articles/theater/84227/berwyns-16th-street-theater-and-ann-filmer

16th Street Theater UNVEILED - March 24 - April 4

Chris Jones on his Chicago Tribune blog writes, "Rohina Malik, the hugely talented writer-actress at the center of the Victory Gardens solo show Unveiled, is a remarkable new theatrical voice in Chicago. In her rich, upbeat and very enjoyable 70-minute collection of five character studies of Muslim women in modern-day America, Malik gives voice to characters from whom we hear far too little in the theater... elegantly staged by Ann Filmer, whose innovative 16th Street Theater first staged this piece in Berwyn." Call Victory Gardens at (773) 871-3000 for tickets! BUY NOW
