City Council Meeting Recap, August 28, 2007
Not too much to report. Not many items on the agenda.

We hope to have a person be in charge of Berwyn's 100th birthday next year. We appointed a Berwyn citizen for now to be that person. Will keep you posted.

Public Works had been given the authority to hire a new Superintendant of Streets. However, the proposed person, who is intensely qualified, was not approved by a 4 to 3 vote. The Mayor appointed him temporarily.

On a 4(1, 6,7,8) to 3(2,3,4) vote, rooftop decks are now allowed on garages. I voted against this. I predict nothing but trouble.

An amendment was made to the handicap parking ordinance. Fines have been increased for those that use fraudulent permits.
