City Council Meeting, September 26, 2006
A new contract was entered into with a rodent abatement company. Residential neighborhoods will be the focus. I will also soon be introducing an ordinance to lock up trash bins.

The Mayor put on the floor a change in the Aldermanic Committees, which would have shifted the Alderpeople around. It was deferred for two weeks. One of the Alderman needed more time to think about the changes.

Three police were given promotions and the Chief unveiled his crime reduction plan. As part of the plan, Berwyn has access to the Chicago police helicopter. His plan is a 6 point plan.

The Director of computer services is in the process of connecting all the City computers and telepephones via fiber optic. This will be a major upgrade and the City's new website should be unveiled in January, 2007. If anyone has any ideas for what he/she would like on the City website, please contact me.

The Harlem Avenue train station new construction has gone out for bids. So, hopefully, the station will be be made better. I have heard that Metra will not be putting a ticket office back in the station.

The library parking lot's bid for the construction company has been approved. I expect to see construction very soon.

There were 39 items on the agenda. Obviously, I never write about all of them, but only about the ones that count. 39 items is a short meeting.

3rd Ward Town Hall meeting is set for Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at 7:30 pm at 32nd and Clinton, in the Presbyterian Church. Flyers will be going out before then.
