Saturday Night
Reminder = Spring into action with a THC March Reading.

Please come out and support local author Kyle Beachy at the next Tamale Hut Presents Reading Series at 7pm, Saturday, March 19th at 7:00 p.m .

Kyle Beachy is the current writer-in-residence at Roosevelt University. His recent novel The Slide was named by Chicago Reader’s readers to be the Best Book by a Chicago Author in the Past Year (2009) and one of the four overlooked books of 2009 by The Daily Beast.

“[Kyle] received his M.F.A. from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. He has taught writing and literature at The School of the Art Institute, the Graham School at The University of Chicago, and the University of Iowa Summer Writing Festival.” (from Roosevelt University's MFA Blog)

Copies of The Slide will be for sale at about $12 each. As always autographs are free. Come out to support a local author and have a great meal with friends. Tamales will be buy two get one free and this is a BYOB night!

Winter Got You Down
Well, check out the 16th Street Theater's latest offering; sure to make you laugh, since the production is a comedy.

Flossing has never been this much fun! Four or the next five or so weeks, make sure to go see Laura Jacqmin's hilarious DENTAL SOCIETY MIDWINTER MEETING.

YES, the show opens at the same time the ACTUAL 146th Annual Dental Midwinter Meeting opens at McCormick Place. And YES, it was planned that way. But NO, the play DENTAL SOCIETY MIDWINTER MEETING has no direct or indirect affiliation with the Chicago Dental Society, the CDS, or the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.

This is going to be a fun night out in the theater!
